Colombian/UK writer-director Antonio Negret first made waves when his debut film TOWARDS DARKNESS premiered in competition at the Tribeca Film Festival. It starred America Ferrera (Ugly Betty), and was distributed by MGM. Negret was subsequently named by The Hollywood Reporter as one of their 'Top 10 Latino Directors to Watch' not long after graduating from USC Film School. His follow up was SECONDS APART, a supernatural horror/thriller produced by After Dark Films and released by Lionsgate, which was followed by the thriller TRANSIT starring Jim Caviezel for Silver Pictures/Dark Castle. In 2017 Negret made the leap to the international action space when he directed the car heist action-thriller OVERDRIVE starring Scott Eastwood and Ana de Armas (released by Paramount and produced by TAKEN helmer Pierre Morel). He (along with his brother Daniel) recently wrote the upcoming Pierre Morel canine action thriller SOMBRA which begins shooting Spring 2021. In addition to his feature film accomplishments, Negret is also one of the most in demand episodic television directors.
